Senior Wellness
Lifetime Wellness, LTD. offers tailored wellness programs to independent, assisted living, and skilled nursing and rehab centers. Utilizing a comprehensive approach that nurtures the whole person, Lifetime Wellness, LTD. focuses on the six dimensions of wellness to help each person reach their wellness potential. Integrating a wellness culture into each client's environment and improving quality of life lies at the heart of our programs.
Body Works
Group Fitness Classes – encompasses a range of exercise activities designed to help maintain and improve flexibility, strength and balance, as well as enhance coordination.
Maintenance Exercise – working in conjunction with our rehab staff, we continue to work with our residents once they have completed physical therapy.
Personal Training – provided by certified licensed professionals, this service is available for an additional fee.
Senior Fitness Testing – utilizing a nationally standardized battery of tests designed specifically for senior adults, the wellness staff can customize programs to increase levels of flexibility, strength, balance and cardiovascular endurance.
Mind Works
Aerobics of the Mind – consists of a combination of intellectual and physical forms of stimulation used to promote and increase neurological function. Also helps with memory and coordination.
Educational Assessments – assessments are completed to determine educational needs and formulate topics that indivuduals would like to explore. Topics range from disease processes, stress management, exercise principles, and intimacy issues.
Wellness Campaigns – the belief that one should never stop learning prompts us to present monthly campaigns to help clients learn about various health and wellness initiatives. National Nutrition Month, Active Aging Week, National Senior Health and Fitness Day are celebrated just to name a few.
Music Works
Music Program – the American Music Therapy Association defines music therapy as the use of music within a therapeutic relationship to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs. As such, our Music Program addresses all of these areas, consisting of assessments, evaluation, consultation, individual therapy, group therapy, and instrumental lessons including: guitar, piano, autoharp, trumpet, and saxophone.
Music Therapists – our therapists have graduated with degrees in music therapy approved by the American Music Therapy Association, completed approved 1000+ hour internships, and passed national competency exams given by the Certification Board of Musical Therapists.
Nature Works
Garden Club – implemented in a structured group setting to stimulate socialization, decision-making and reminiscing opportunities. Residents participate in various activities, including flower arranging, potting plants, nature crafts, educational sessions, and cognitive games.
Nature Walks – implemented in small groups or on an individual basis, this component of the Nature Works program fosters physical wellness by stimulating responses of the senses, maintaining or increasing levels of function, and increasing circulation, strength and balance.
Nature Visits – one-on-one visits allow residents to participate in nature activities, providing sensory stimulation and simulating past experiences.
